MANAGING BROKER | PREMIER PROPERTIES DIRECTOR
A longtime Washingtonian, Susan embodies all the best of the Pacific Northwest. She’s lived in Bellingham, Pullman, Kirkland, Green Lake and Queen Anne — and she’s loved every minute of it. She loves spending her free time at her mountain home east of Seattle or exploring Orcas Island. When she’s not busy serving her clients, Susan adores spending time with her beloved Golden Retriever and talking home design over a craft beer or a beautiful rosé.
Susan has been in real estate for over 30 years, and closed $500M+ in transactions for her clients. As Premier Properties Director, Susan has a proven track record of managing the purchase and sale of luxury homes, tailoring her marketing and negotiating strategies for each property’s unique assets. The highlight of Susan’s career is the time and care she devotes to each one of her clients. Always an advocate, Susan utilizes her creativity and collaboration during negotiations to ensure a successful outcome for all parties, without compromising on what her clients really want and need. Beyond her advocacy, market education is also important to Susan, as she takes the necessary time to educate her clients about the current housing market conditions — empowering them to confidently navigate these life-changing decisions with her at their side. Susan has built her business on client referrals and lifetime support, offering recommendations and referrals for service providers and brokers worldwide.
I love to throw parties and I am good at it – just add champagne.
My golden retriever does not retrieve or swim – bummer. On the bright side I always have a clean dog.
I have a mountain home in Cle Elum – I recently took up bird and wildlife watching.
I learned to downhill ski when I was 7 – in High School I would pile 4 friends in my VW Super Beetle, our skis strapped to the back, and head up to Mt. Baker nearly every weekend during ski season.
Real estate is my first career – I started pretty much right out of college.
My favorite pizza is Hawaiian with extra pineapple.
I have an eclectic taste in music – pop, jazz, 80s rock and country are all the same playlists.
Julie Russell brings a fresh perspective to real estate. She is a positive force with a calm demeanor and a friendly spirit. I find joy in discovering what makes my clients tick. I learned from 20 years as an interior designer that the best possible results come from pure collaboration. Getting to know my clients’ personalities and combining those with well-dressed functional homes that fulfill their desires and budget is my obsession.

My guilty pleasure is listening to true crime podcasts. I even fall asleep to them.
Play violin and piano, but really wish my parents would have let me take drum lessons.
My previous careers include sportswriter, paralegal and interior design business owner, all of which have proven useful in my passion for real estate.
People and marketing, are two things that have had a strong effect on me ever since I was a child. I learned the importance of technology, but still keeping people at the center of it all. Both people and marketing go hand in hand, the more you learn about people, their likes and dislikes, the fact that sometimes there's no logical reason behind an action, the more we learn how to market to them. My passion is bringing back the human element to marketing. Helping people see that side of businesses is what I do best. After all, you only get one chance to make a first impression. I'm here to help make it count!
I was born and raised in Sri Lanka.
I have 24 siblings (yes, you read that right!) - 16 sisters and 8 brothers.
Traveling is my passion and I love blogging about my travels.

Each year my husband and I play basketball at Hoopfest (the biggest 3 on 3 in the world) and we won 2 years in a row.
I always eat any kind of fruit with salt and chili.
The first company I started was a donut shop when I was 15.
As the Account Manager for W Creative, Windermere’s in-house creative agency for Seattle and the Eastside, I love getting to know my clients and helping them shine through their marketing. I am so proud and lucky to be on an incredible team of talented and creative individuals who teach me something new every single day. I’m also passionate about real estate and love being a part of this industry!
I have a chihuahua-mix and pit bull duo who I adore more than anything in the world.
